First Light is very excited to welcome celebrity chef Matt Golinksi as the keynote speaker for Camp Widow Australia and our latest ambassador, joining nationally-acclaimed television and radio presenter Robin Bailey.

Matt is a highly regarded, professional chef, well known as one of the original team members of the popular ‘Ready Steady Cook’ television series. A popular food columnist, motivational speaker and blogger, Matt has founded his own catering company, works as a consulting chef to restaurants and is an active member of the slow food movement.

In December 2011, Matt lost his wife and three daughters in a house fire and spent four months in hospital with severe burns. Over the past 10 years he has worked hard to rebuild his life, and now lives on the Sunshine Coast with his partner Erin and their three-year-old daughter Aluna.

Matt believes that, like the burns community that supported him over the first few years of his recovery by providing a support network of burns survivors going through similar challenges, First Light provides a connection to other people going through the grief of losing a partner and shows them that they are not alone.
